There exists a four stage model of a development of a team. These four steps are required for developing the team in an organization. Stage one is forming the teams and groups in the organization. The workers depend on the team leaders for various tasks as they are not able to perform all the tasks. In this stage, they get the knowledge about the goals and objectives of the company. They communicate with other team members.
The second stage is storming which is about the personality clashes among the team members. Problems in decision making are one of the important features of this juncture. The third stage is forming which is about meeting the common goals and objectives of the team. In this phase, the employees are aware of the rivalry with the other teams. They start to participate in the competition with the other teams for creating excellent works and achieve maximum profits. The final stage is performing in which employees are more independent, motivated and autonomous which is also applicable in 360 degree evaluation.
Sometimes the leaders in the organization do not want to change the team infrastructure which is homogeneous. Sometimes employees are not able to take diversified working environment in the organization. They should inform the employees about the advantage of diversified teams in the group. Workforce resistance can be managed by different types of motivating procedures, workshops and informative way through which employees can get to know each other.
